Escape The Tramping Ground

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How many participants are in the session?
The script is written to allow up to 10 people in a session at once.  You may be in a session with other people you do not know.  The entire group is on the same team working together to escape and not be trapped.

How long will it take?
This depends on how well your team works together, and how well you work under pressure!  If you do not find all the clues and solve the puzzles that unlock the door within 60 minutes, you will be trapped permanently and we will have to remove your body from the room.  Allow one and half hours for the entire session for instruction time, a solution explanation and an analysis of your team building traits.

Will I really get locked in if I don’t escape?
Cannibalism has been outlawed since 1804, so your teammates are not legally permitted to  eat you in the case of you getting locked in. Doesn't exactly count for whatever else may be in the room.

What should I bring with me?
Your inner Sherlock Holmes and all the sleuthing skills you can muster!  The answers to the clues, riddles and puzzles are all in the room.  You will be using your ability to look for clues, figure out logic, communicate with the other performers and apply deductive reasoning to escape. Don’t give up!  Keep searching for clues. You are going to have to work fast!

Are cell phones permitted?
Cell phones are not allowed to be used in the room.  The use of electronic devices or any outside tools are strictly prohibited and you will immediately be removed from the show if you attempt to use them.

What happens if I arrive late?
The door to the room closes exactly at the time you signed up for.  Please arrive 15 – 20 minutes early to make sure you are there before the room is locked.  You will not be permitted into the room if you are late.  THERE ARE NO REFUNDS.

How old do you have to be?
We do not recommend this show for children under the age of 10.  Guinea pigs…er, guests ages 10-14 must be accompanied by a paying adult in the room (1 adult : 6 kids).  Anyone under the age of 18 must print out and bring a liability release waiver signed by their parent/legal guardian. CLICK HERE for the waiver. A minimum of two adults must accompany and stay on site with groups of children (including birthday parties) under the age of 18. Infants and toddlers will not be allowed in the room.

What if I am pregnant?
We do not recommend this show for women who are pregnant.

What if I am epileptic?
There are very little strobe/flashing lights used in the show; however there is a sound and lighting design that is meant to raise tension every 5 minutes and other loud noises that occur over the course of the adrenaline-packed, hour-long show.

Can I schedule a private show for just our group?
To reserve an entire session for your group, you need to purchase all 10 tickets at once.  Please contact us if there are no session times available with 10 tickets and we will create a special session time for you.

   TIPS TO ESCAPE

#1.  DON’T JUST SIT THERE!  There are clues scattered throughout the room. Move, touch, pull, turn, twist and open as many things as you can to find clues.

#2. SHARE YOUR FINDINGS.  The only way to solve the puzzles and escape is to put all of the clues together.  A safe may take two or three clues to open.  Gather your clues in one spot and work as a collaborative unit with the other adventurers to come up with solutions.

#3. LET SOMEONE ELSE TRY.  If a participant thinks that they have the correct answer and a clue will not open…..THEY HAVE THE WRONG ANSWER OR THEY DIDN’T PUT IN THE ANSWER CORRECTLY!   Have someone else try it.  The riddles are obvious to some people and appear impossible to others.    Have everyone give the riddle a shot.  This will be one of your best tips to escape!

#4. DON'T DESTROY THE SET OR PROPS.  Everything inside the room is a bit like Australia; purposefully bred to kill everything else in the room.  Though it may sound appealing to rip a lock off of a cabinet, don’t do it; you wouldn't want to break anything you'd need to escape, would you? Also we need to observe you in a terrified state for our research, so we'd hate to have to escort you from the room.

#5. DON’T GIVE UP!   The participants that don’t escape and are trapped stop looking for clues, stop trying different combinations, and believe they can’t figure it out.  Keep having different participants try the solve the clues, keep looking at the riddle and keep trying any possible combination.  The worst thing you can do is “NOTHING”.  Keep moving, keep looking, keep trying and never give up!

* PLEASE arrive 15 -20 minutes before your scheduled session time.  Late arrivals will not be permitted into the room. There are no refunds nor credits to future performances.
